The WPF Convention Trophy Shield has been reclaimed by Dennis Russ for the fifth time. Dennis also won 4 packs of printing papers donated by Fotospeed.
Dennis’ print was selected by Bill Ward, one of the guest speakers at the Convention. Thanks to Jeff Howe for the photo below.

Ron Lines recently published some advice in the WPF Facebook Group for any WPF members thinking about going for any of the FIAP Distinctions so we thought we’d reproduce it here.

Congratulations to Gwynfa and Bridgend who represented the WPF in the Natonal PDI Inter-Club Championships at Warwick. They qualified by finishing in the top two places at the WPF Ace of Clubs back in February.
Chorley PS and Wigan 10 shared the spoils in the Grand Final. The WPF clubs didn’t make it to the grand final so they contested the Plate final. Gwynfa finished joint 5th and Bridgend Joint 16th.
Overall results and individual awards can be seen here.
The event was judged by Steven LePrevost FRPS MPAGB AFIAP FIPF (SCPF), Sue Sibley ARPS DPAGB EFIAP/s BPE4 (SCPF) and Libby Smith MPAGB EFIAP HonPAGB HonSPF (SPF).

Whilst browsing the latest edition of Rod Whelan’s PAGB E-News, we came across these images of presentation being made to two WPF photographers, Jenny Hibbert and Susan Lacourt Slee. Details below.

PSA members in Wales have been quietly working away towards gaining PSA awards by entering PSA recognised Exhibitions. This involves a pathway of star, galaxy and diamond acceptances. Thus far in 2023 the following members have achieved these awards listed below:-
Mike Bray 4 stars in Mono
David Edwards Galaxy 4 in Nature
Paul James 5 stars in Mono and Galaxies 2 and 3 in colour
Ian Ledgard Galaxy 9 in Mono and Galaxy 7 in Photo Travel
Hazel Price 2 stars in colour
Kevin Robertson First star in Photojournalism.
Well done everybody and keep working towards your next targets.
If WPF members are interested in pursuing PSA recognition then I will be happy to explain the system. For those who have FIAP acceptances these will qualify for PSA as long as that exhibition also had PSA recognition.
