PSA News

Welsh photographers have achieved good results in the New Year Circuit in Serbia. PSA Member Neville Thomas had 16 acceptances and won a Bronze Medal and an HM. Ian Ledgard had 7 acceptances and was also awarded an HM.

Three other Welsh based photographers also had successes and might perhaps consider seeking PSA recognition of their achievements John Bell and Matthew Jones both collected 16 acceptances and Anthony Baggett 8. How about it folks?

Congratulations are in order for Colin Price of New Quay Camera Club who has recently been awarded PPSA in recognition of his proficiency in International Exhibitions with Prints and Digital Images.  This award requires at least 288 acceptances. Well done Colin.

There are many more photographers in Wales who enjoy success in PSA recognised exhibitions who I know could also gain awards with works already accepted. Please do consider adding PSA recognitions to your armoury. For more details contact me at ian.ledgard@talk21.com

PSA Success For Angela

Angela Bonner a member of Hay on Wye Camera club has just achieved her first Recognition of Photographic Achievement from the Photographic Society of America, gaining first stars in both colour and monochrome divisions. Well done Angela.

I am aware that a number of other WPF members are embarking on this route to recognition as well as a number in North Wales. It is challenging to pitch your work into international competitions and rewarding when you achieve success. Anyone interested in recieving further guidance should contact me and I will be pleased to assist.

Ian can help you with PSA accreditation

Ian Ledgard of Towy Valley CC writes

I have recently been appointed to a volunteer role within the Photographic Society of America as Country Membership Director for Wales. I have been a member since 2005 but there are only a handful of PSA members in Wales. My task will be to support existing members and encourage other to join this worldwide organisation.

Those who enter International Salons should be aware that PSA offers awards for photographic achievement based upon acceptances gained. From the autumn onward I will be available to give detailed presentations to clubs within Wales or to meet with individuals who may be considering joining PSA.
