Results From 2019 Bridgend 5-8 Competition

Last night Bridgend & District Camera Club, held it’s annual 5 to 8 International Photo Harmony Competition expertly judged by Joan Ryder Rathband, FRPS,FPSSA, AFIAP, DPAGB and Clive Rathband, FRPS,FPSSA,EFIAP, DPAGB. The competition attracted entries from all over the world with the top three places going to:

1st – Ian Bateman (this is the 3rd time in a row that Ian has won) with his entry – Cathedral

2nd – Jane & Stephen Lee with their entry – Yellowstone Winter

3rd – Lisa Buckalders with her entry – Visions of Africa

Well done to all who entered.

2019 GB Cup Results

Congratulations to Inn Focus Group (11th), Afan Nedd CC and Western Valley CC for being in the Top 50 of the GB Cup (Open). Nick Walton of Inn Focus Group took the award for Best Dark Humour.

In the GB Cup (Small Clubs) Bridgend & District CC, Rhondda CC and Carmarthen CC featured in the Top 50.

Dewi in ‘Mastering Film Photography’ book

Last autumn Dewi Jones of Neath & District Photographic Society was approached by a gentleman named Chris Gatcum, a writer of books on photography. Chris had admired the quality of pictures Dewi was producing from an Agfa Clack camera on his Flickr website and asked whether he could have four pictures for inclusion on a book to be published by Ammonite Press. After a few checks allayed any suspicions, Dewi duly sent the pictures and vowed to keep silent until the book was published.

Ken Stoneman

We have received this sad news from Alan Shepherd at Gwynfa.

Ken Stoneman passed away on Tuesday 28th May. Ken has been a member of Gwynfa since the very early days of the club and during that time occupied several committee roles including Chairman and Treasurer. He will be missed by everyone.
