Abertawe defend 2015 Ken Adams Memorial Trophy

Gower PS had its largest attendance in many years when it hosted the 29th Ken Adams Memorial Trophy on 4 November. Congratulations go to Abertawe who successfully retained the Trophy with 212 points, closely followed by Gower on 207 and Morriston on 202.

Many thanks to Ian Ledgard for judging so well and to everyone else from the three clubs who helped make it such a memorable evening.

Gwynfa Grab 2015 Bridgend 12-Way

October 5th saw the second Bridgend 12 Way print battle sponsored by Fotospeed. The judge was Tony Byram ARPS, AWPF, DPAGB, EFIAP from Bristol,.

What a great night excellent turnout from all clubs and congratulations to Gwynfa for winning. It was very close right to the end.  They now join Ebbw Vale as winners of this Trophy.

The Bottom three clubs drop out every year and three new clubs take their place next year. There is a long waiting list to get into the battle but if your club is interested then drop me a line Gareth Martin cortez34@virginmedia.com

Bridgend 2014 5 to 8 Competition Results

The results of the 2014 5 to 8 Competition for PhotoHarmony digital AV sequences are as follows:

Winner – Wantage Camera Club – One Day Like This

Runner-up – Malcolm Imhoff  – On Higher Ground

Runner-up – Adri van Oudheusden – One Fine Day (South Africa)

Highly Commended – Ian Bateman – Catalunyan Morning

Highly Commended – Nellian Bekker – Fantasie d’Eau (South Africa)

This years winning sequence was a joint entry by members of Wantage Camera Club, I hope this will encourage other clubs to consider entering. The winning entry will shortly be available to view on the Bridgend CC website. Our Judges this year, Edgar Gibbs  FRPS MPAGB AV-AFIAP and Linda Gibbs MPAGB AV-AFIAP, provided expert critique of all the sequences and helped make the evening very stimulating and enjoyable. Edgar and Linda commented that the standard was very high and the final results were very close. Bridgend CC would like to thank them for all their hard work. The presence of visitors from other clubs and the South Wales RPS AV group was much appreciated. A DVD of sequences and the judges critique will be sent to clubs via the WPF portfolio service. Bridgend CC hope that other clubs will find this entertaining and with the Judges comments enclosed an informative disc. 2013 Rhondda 11 Way Goes to the Vale

On Tuesday 19th December at 7.3pm Rhondda hosted their annual 11 sided battle. Present was a good crowd who enjoyed the usual warm welcome and fine hospitality of RCC.

The battle was won by The Vale PS (107) with Rhondda and Western Valley (both 105) hot on their heels. Gwynfa and Cynon Isaf finished 5 points off the pace in joint 4th.

The judge was Peter Weaver LRPS, CPAGB, APAGB of Bristol.

Results of Bridgend 5 to 8 Competition 2013

The judging for this years competition was held on Monday 18th March, the competition attracted entries from within the WPF as well as  from North Wales, England, Scotland, Australia and South Africa. The difficult task of judging the diverse range of seuences was undertaken with great skill and humour by Linda Gibbs MPAGB AV-AFIAP and Edgar Gibbs FRPS, MPAGB AV-AFIAP of Gwynfa Camera Club. Hornbill Challenge 2012 Results & Acceptances

This just in from Neath P.S. Neath Photographic Society would like to thank everybody who entered the Hornbill Challenge 2012. The competition attracted a high quality of entrants and selecting the winners proved to be a difficult task for our judges.
