We have received some awful news from Jamie Archdale-Smith at Barry Camera Club.
It is with great regret that we have to announce the sad and sudden death of our Chairman Mike Lewis on Saturday 17th June 2017. Mike passed away unexpectedly whilst out doing what he loved best, on a walk in the countryside taking photographs.
Mike was a passionate fan of all things photographic, and will be greatly missed by all. His passing will be a great loss for Barry Camera Club and the Welsh Photographic Federation, both of whom he served diligently for a great many years.
Our thoughts go to his family at this difficult time.
Mike’ funeral will be held at Barry Crematorium on Friday 7th July at 11.00 am and afterwards at the Seashore Grill, Beach Road, Swanbridge, CF64 5UG.

The post-mortem took place for Mike on Friday. The verdict confirmed that Mike had Ischaemic Heart Disease. If you want more information on this condition, please view this link.
The family have thanked everyone for their well-wishes and kind thoughts, but request that this information is not spread using Facebook.
As yet, there is no date for a funeral, as the death has yet to be registered, which I understand has to be done in Llandrindod Wells, so may be a week or so away yet!
The family have also requested an indication of numbers likely to attend Mike’s funeral. I appreciate that this may be difficult to confirm definitively, but if you could email barrycameraclub.treasurer@gmail.com by Wednesday 28th June to advise you are planning to attend, then I will reply to Mike’s daughter, Jay.
